Do eGPU's work with laptops that have dedicated graphic cards?
I have a laptop with a GTX 1060 6gb.
I'm getting a desktop with a RTX 2080. Plan on upgrading it to a 2080ti at some point. When I do was thinking about taking the 2080 and connecting it to the laptop with a eGPU box.
Does that work?

Yes, assuming that your model of laptop has the right connections to work well with external GPUs. You need a Thunderbolt 3 port (common on MacBook Pros and modern high end laptops), or if you have a recent Alienware computer you’d use their proprietary connection for external graphics cards.

As an example, the Razer Blade and Blade Pro have discrete graphics cards but they still support external graphics cards. What's your Laptop's Model ? You can use an external GPU on most laptops that feature a Thunderbolt 2 or 3 port....
