Eight Pin Connector problems

i dropped my computer about 2 feet and it would not boot nothing at all started. Tested the PSU with a tester had to buy a new one. now that i have the new PSU it still isn't booting. when i have the PSU connected to the 24pin connector and the 8pin connector and hit the power button nothing at all happens but when i have the PSU only put into the 24 connector and hit the power button all of my fans start moving for just a second and then it dies. I assume this is because there is something wrong with the motherboard / 8-pin connector any tips on how to fix or will it require a new motherboard?

Try clearing the CMOS on your board.

Unplug from mains
Look for round, flat battery on motherboard
Use a plastic knife or similar to pry the battery out
Wait 2-3 mins
Reinsert battery
This should clear CMOS.
