This is not 240Hz input. It's 120Hz input with image processing occurring which adds input lag, the post processed speed is 240Hz.

This is not good for gamers. The contrast ratio at what they claim to be 5000:1 is significant though.

The best situation for gaming with this monitor is to turn off the blur reduction feature, use it at 120Hz and enjoy the high level of contrast.

I doubt the thing will be priced to compete with other 120Hz+ 1080p monitors because of the high contrast ratio, though if the 5000:1 is in fact the actual ratio and not some dynamic figure.

That is guite important thing in here. Eizo normally deliver what they promises, so this should be a guite good monitor indeed, but the price will be high...
4k and 27" with these specks would be nice, but maybe in few years ;-)

It doesn't use interpolation. See page 15 of the Eizo FDF2405W manual, or see:
http://www.blurbusters.com/eizo-240hz-va-monitor-uses-strobe-backlight/

It uses black frame insertion by strobe backlight, so there's no interpolation used in this monitor.
