EK water options

I was looking at the new EK MONO BLOCK for the ASUS MAX HERO VIII, and I have some questions.... 1) do all my cooling parts have to be EK or can I mix and match (i.e. EK block, Koolance pump, etc) - is there anything I should be looking for/worried about? 2) I read a lot about EK blood red causing damage, but hear that Mayhem coolant is consistently good. I'm ok with flushing the system once or twice a year if I have to. If I really have to. Hoping to get some feedback and pointers. thank you in advance.

As far as I can tell from reading you can mix and match you just have to get the inner and outer diameters to match your tubing. Most guides will tell you not to add colour to the coolant and that it's much safer to use distilled water on its own, maybe with a little algae killer.

All that being said I would probably go EK for my whole loop if I was gonna get into custom loops. I've read so many good reviews about their stuff.
Have you considered custom kits like EK predator or XSPC Raystorm? I think they are cheaper and you can still customise them as you like.
