[SOLVED] Electric shock noise when powering on PC

This has been happening for a while now but the computer has been working fine. It has always booted up and ran perfectly, still does. Finally figured I should ask if I have a ticking time bomb or not.

Wait.. How are you powering on the PC? Were you just pressing the button on the front of the case?

yes, pressing button on front while recording the back. can't tell exactly where the shock noise is coming from, may not even the be power supply

Well.. I will say that's a VERY OLD power supply. Might as well just swap it out because I'm sure it can't be at it's top performance.

Judging by the video it looks like there's a relay or something flicking inside that power supply at the same time the noise can be heard. Maybe it's one used to switch between 120v and 230v automatically? I can't say for sure, just an educated guess.

now that you mention it, I do see the movement in the video. Good eye, I'll check that out.

That's not how power supplies work. Please don't assume things you don't know.
