I probably already know the answer to this i would assume no. If i were to purchase a Chinese tablet would it even have a certification or meet safety requirements?

I'm sure nobody ever thinks about this, but I am certain like anything in life too much of something is not good - well in this case electromagnetic radiation even if it is non-ionizing radiation.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't know if there are any em standards for tablets but so long as you buy one from a name brand company (Apple, Samsung etc) then it will have been designed to meet these standards. Off brand stuff especially if it comes direct from China will probably not.
I suspect that unless you live in a cabin in the woods without electricity you don't have to worry about a low powered device this this.
