News Electronics boffin creates slot-in MacBook SSD module system — breaks storage limits for every modern MacBook

This project is a waste of time , the real MOD would be soldering TRUE M2 slot with a tiny bridge chip (Thunderbolt <--> M2) into the thunderbolt internally... This way you can use ANY NVME SSD and will appear as a second drive in the System.

If it's not practical to use (and requiring a second Macbook every time you reboot is NOT practical) then it's a worthless exercise.
It's only when you change internal SSD size. You're in a MacBook reverse harem anyway. (Huh, Tenchi Muyo! genderswap Mac Userdom, Tim was onto something after all...)

...where did you get the idea that one has to use a second Macbook every time one reboots the MacBook with the upgrade?? it says "requires a second Macbook when rebooting the other Mac after that Mac got the upgrade"! you don't even need a second Mac if you know how to Hackintosh, too.

Plenty of Chinese repair shops already do Macs storage upgrade where they replace the NAND or add entirely new NANDs. Of course only China-based shops would have the tool, software, and expertises to pull that off cheaply
