Hi everybody,

Really appreciate your help on how to hook up a Elgato H60S that I just ordered in the following configuration.

Ok so here's the setup - I am connecting the HDMI out on the Wii U to the Elgato and the Elgato to my computer. No problem - feed comes into the computer.

Next, I connected a headset with microphone or microphone to the computer. No problem - now I have an audio feed for my streaming.

Here's the challenge I'm having though - so I don't want to have audio coming out of my soundbar or the TV because it will ruin my stream, but I want to hear the game audio.

I don't get what I should do because I can't just plug an audio out cable into the Wii U controller - people online say that doesn't work.

I wasn't entirely clear how to set this up.

Again, key details are play:

-Have the Elgato H60S
-Want to capture the video/audio from the Wii U
-Want to be able to record commentary while playing
-Want the audio out to come to a headset while I'm playing so I can have headphones on

I don't have an audio out plug on my soundbar or TV

Thanks in advance - I am happy to buy anything I need to within reason to make this work within reason

Solution
what happens is you hit the mute button on yout tv`s remote?

your soundbar gets the audio from your TV, and your TV get the audio from the HDMI cable

a neater sollution would be a HDMI splitter between the Elgato and the wii
hdmi out1 will go to the elgato and HDMI 2 will do to your tv (this will also eleminate most video lagg that if thats caused by the Elgato)
if the video output to your tv is secondairy, you could opt to use a hdmi to scart converter and "break out" the audio part
