OK, so I'm trying to set up my Elgato Facecam on Windows 10 64 bit.

I plug it into my USB 3.0 slot and it says "Windows does not recognise the device". I've tried different USB 3.0 slots with no luck. It's just listed as USB composite device with a yellow exclamation mark in device manager. Already says I have the best driver when trying an update. I've tried reinstalling the camera software too.

The weirdest thing is, if I plug it into a USB 2.0 slot, the camera is recognised, and comes up as a camera on my device manager, but the software then says it can't be used as needs USB 3.0, only to have the same problem when I then do that.

Rinse and repeat.

Any ideas?

How do I know if my USB 3.0 is enabled?

USB 3.0 ports on PC
  1. Right-click the Windows icon (bottom left) and select Device Manager.
  2. In the Device Manager window, select Universal Serial Bus controllers.
  3. Locate the USB port by its type (e.g. 3.0, 3.1). If there are not 3.0 or above ports, your computer is not USB 3 enabled.
It must be the USB 3.0 capability of your computer. You can buy a
USB PCIe card with USB 3.0 if you do not have it already.
