This might be a seemingly dumb question, but I am looking to get a better recording setup for my YouTube channel. I already have copies of both OBS and DxTory and have found pros and cons for both, but a consistent problem I am having is getting a decent frame rate while recording. I have an AMD FX-8350 and an R9 290 so gameplay while recording is generally pretty smooth. When I start recording, however, things start to tank. I either have to downscale my graphics settings, recording resolution, or frame rate or suffer the consequences of very stuttery video. Would getting an HD60 pro take the encoding and recording strain off of my computer and rely totally on the card? I just wanted to make sure that my $200 purchase wouldn't be in vain and give me the same results I am already getting.

Also, I'm not looking to upgrade my CPU or GPU currently (in an ideal world I would bump up to the x99 platform and get a 980ti but hey, money don't grow on trees) so any hardware recommendations would have little value to me at this time. I've spent lots of time researching the best settings for both OBS and DxTory and I haven't found any combination of settings that totally fix my issues. Any advice directly on the HD60 Pro would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Might I ask what your current systems specs are? Are you on any other hardware for your streaming/recording duties or relying on software and your machine to d it for you?

Indeed they are meant to offload duties from your system onto the card. You could also look into AverMedia C985 as a viable candidate but requires you to have a PCI-E x1 slot available for population.
