Elgato sound not working?

Hi,

I have an elgato hd hooked up to my PC. It works as far as recording the video but does not record the sound. When I open the sound capture software and turn it on to pc gaming I cannot hear anything from my speakers/ headset.

Never worked for me neither, i'd recommend hooking up an external software and start recording both at the same time or start recording the video 3 seconds after then edit it out

The sound capture only cptures additional commentary etc, not the main HDMI stream. And it's a useless program too. Just causes problems.

What settings do you have? What audio controller is on your PC?

What's an audio controller?

It controls the audio bus on your PC.

Look in Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game Controllers and see what it says

It has quite a few;

AMD High Definintion Audio Device
Blue Snowball
Game Capture HD
High Definition Audio Device
Logitech G633 Gaming Headset

It's likely the mic and headphone drivers are causing issues. Firstly disable Elgato sound capture then check the other drivers are up to date in that section, reboot and see if you get audio.

It is fairly complicated and unless you know what you are doing you are going to find it tricky tbh.

Still not got any audio when I record 🙁
