If Braben decides to do this, aka not a Duke Nukem Forever fiasco, then
he'll get my money. Hell, I'll even pre-order it when the time comes.

But I hope this time people will be able to mod it.

You said it! Pre-Orders are the way developers know they are onto something
and according to some source which I cant remember {go credibility!} gives
the most money to the developers as oposed to the publisher.

Wooo im getting all excited! Hrmmm, nah not really, if I let myself get
excited now I'd probably knock myself when I run face first into a wall in 1
months time due to over excitement/anxiousness. 😛

The only reason I'm going to pre-order is because Braben won me over
with Frontier: First Encounters. No one, and I mean no one, has been
able to live up to what he's created. :)

*grins* I'm excited about it, too. Seen a scan of the article, and I
love the fact that he's going to design so you're a person this time
around and not a spaceship. Finally, a developer with some common sense!
With that, I pray that he adds interiors to vessels and stations, 'cause
that would be icing on the cake...the sim I've been waiting my entire
life for (even better if someone would do a TOS Star Trek mod for it
*grins*). Sounds feasible, as he was talking about thousands of people
being on the screen at once. It's 'bout time for him to pave the way
again. It'll be a show to watch, 'cause I doubt anybody could make a
better space sim than he can.

Mark my words: when it's released, it'll be /the/ definitive space sim
title. The top of the heap, the golden scepter that other space sim
dev's only dream about. 😉

I wish nothing but the best of luck to David Braben. A man who takes the
risks he does in the space sim dev community deserves to reap the rewards.

<snip>

Totally agree with you there. The graphics may be poor by todays standards but
playability wise it beats everything out there now hands down. What other game
will let you land on an asteroid? Or chase a mark down from system to system
or even nuke a military base? I remember a headline from when the original
Frontier was released. The magazine review had the words "Is Braben God?"
emblazoned across the page. Maybe not but hes got to be the Pope at least! 🙂

I dont know where my reply went so here goes again...

If 2006, then is Elite going to be a first gen PS3 game (any rumours/
news)?

Anywhere I can read online the PC Gamer interview with MrDB?

Your right not much juice there, but thanks for the link - I am interested
in any and all snippets, put all the snippets together and you get a
snippat. 2006 is sooo far away, I must try to get a job there...

Was it just a dream, but did anyone else experience the 'furbys' in elite?
They overran the screen, eating all the food... 8-{)
