Elite Dangerous Bad Image Error

Whenever i try and launch Elite Dangerous from steam, it doesn't launch and whenever i try running the launcher from the files it comes up with EDLaunch.exe Bad Image. C:\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_88e41e092fab0294\MSVCR80.dll is either no designed to run on Windows or it contains and error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.
I have tried reinstalling my graphics card drivers and i have run an anti virus.

It sounds like that dll is corrupt.
It's part of microsoft's c++ runtime

I would first try re-install that runtime:

I tried installing the c++ runtime but i dont think it installed because it would get up to the configure part and then it just closes

there are a few different downloads there. you probably want the x86 one.

did you try run it as administrator?
if it still crashes out when you 'run as administrator', then you''ll need to move on to those next steps.
