Hello Tom's Hardware!
I've been lurking in here for quite some time, and I have always been able to solve any problem, thanks to you guys, myself. But this time it's such a hassle... Let's get a few things in order:
HP Elitebook 8560p
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate [] 6.1.7601 SP1 x64
AMD Radeon HD 7400M Series 1GB Vram
SanDisk 256gb SSD [] 201BDED1
-
I originally received this machine with the i5-2410M @ 2.30GHz (SR0UX)
I did my research, and found out that I could upgrade to an i7, which I needed for rendering when I'm away from home.
So I did some more digging, and recently bought the i7-3630QM @ 2.4GHz.
-
Here's the problem.
After replacing the CPU, making sure that it is inserted correctly, my laptop wouldn't boot at all.
First solution [Failed]
I automatically assumed it was due to an ancient BIOS firmware, so I updated it, to the newest available from Hewlett Packard. This did not do the trick.
-
The PC still boots up just fine, with the old CPU installed.
With the new one installed, the PC turns on, screen stays black, and then automatically turns itself off after several minutes remaining idle.
I can't figure this one out myself.
Please help me.
Kind and humble regards,
Marius
