I have the problem many seem to (I posted under Sone
Setup Error) but nothing seems to work. I tried emailing
you with clvck, but I guess it didn't go through. I note
in another thread that you say the following:

Paste http://fdl.msn.com/zone/datafiles/ in your location
bar then add
the name of the file you can't "update" to the end.
Download the file,
place it in the Zone's \Temp folder, then reenter the
Zone. It will be installed.

For me, it is zextract.exe that won't load. I don't
understand what the zone's temp folder is. Within my
program files\MSN Gaming Zone folder, I also have a
\Windows folder that contains a bunch of zone files. I
tried putting the zextract.exe file in there, but it
didn't help. Where is this temp folder supposed to be???

thanks,
dan

I was able to fix my problem. My ISP is Juno...i was
recently given a free upgrade to speedband....if you have
that...the fix is in the settings. Right click on the
speedband box...choose settings, and exclusion list...and
put zone.com in the box and click add. I was able to get
right in. Of course...lost my friends list,,but thats a
small price to pay.

Also..thank you for ur time & help Elmo...i sure
appreciate it.

I don't have XP so I'm not sure where the Zone's \Temp folder is
located. With my W98 system, it's here:

C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\Temp

Speedband and other web accelerators cache the files locally so they can
be loaded quickly.

Your Friends list was in the folder with your nickname on it, and the
filename was Friends.txt. You might look in the Recycle Bin for it and
restore it, if found.

Dan, point your browser to
http://fdl.msn.com/zone/datafiles/zextract.exe

You CANNOT browse the site but you can download using
the above method.
The temp folder Elmo refers to "should be" located at
C:\Program Files\MSN Gaming Zone\Temp, save the download
to that location.
Hope this helps
