With the discussion around memory centering around Samsung/Hynix mainly I've noticed my GTX 970 has Elpida memory. Never heard of it - should this be a concern? Does anyone else have Elpida and can they share their experience?

Elpida is a manufacturer of memory chips. Dell, IBM, HP, and Oracle use them as a vendor for their server memory, and Elpida also markets on it's own. It looks like EVGA has also sourced them as a vendor for memory chips. Shouldn't have anything to worry about, and if the memory proves faulty it would still be RMA'd by EVGA.

Dude it goes like this 1-samsung 2-Hynix than somewhere at the back is Elpida.
Elpida has a bad rap on overclocking sites, they are def not on the same level as Samsung, from what I've read, its a cost saving attempt or there was simply a problem in sourcing from Samsung or Hynix at that particular manufacture date. Personally I've had elpida vram fail on my 780, had to be replaced after 1.5 yrs of use.
