I can't seem to run any direct3d app with my Elsa Gladiac 511 (NVidia MX-400 / 32 Megs SDRAM) on Windows 98 SE,but the other apps using OpenGL (Quake III, Oni, 3D Studio Max 4, Alias WaveFront 9.5) works perfectly fine.
The only device driver i install is for the display adapter + directX 8/8a and it still won't run any direct3d apps.
Please note that i've already updated my display adapter's bios.

Try running the following display drivers...

1. Detonator XP
2. Latest Elsa Drivers
3. Elsa drivers that came with your card
4. Detonator 3 Drivers (sometimes more stable)

If all that fails, try uninstalling Direct X and then reinstalling it.

60 FPS, 70 FPS, 80 FPS Crash!
Daylight comes and I have to go to work :frown:

thanks...
but after spending few days changing everything in the BIOS, i think (with almost 99% certainty) that assigning an IRQ to my USB controller had caused all those problems (which is enabled by default BIOS setting). eventhough i still wonder why those problems only occur when using direct3d apps .... :p
