em using dell latitude E6510 lap , i7, windows 7 64bit......... cat5 cable is working while connecting internet through LAN but if i connect cat6 its not showing the LAN sign or getting connected.. what should i do

It likely is a defective cable. Cat5e and cat6 are identical when you are hooking them to 1g or lower speed ports. If your cat5 cable works you might as well keep using it the cat6 cable will give you no benefit.
