Hey guys,

I am looking into upgrading an Emachine EL1852G (http://www.cnet.com/products/emachines-el1852g-52w-pentium-e5800-3-2-ghz-3-gb-1-tb-lcd-20/specs/). There was a previous topic on this, but it was over two years old and did not establish anything I didn't know

Right of the bat, the power supply is a Liteon PS-5221-9 (http://www.amazon.com/DPS-220UB-A-PS-5221-9-PS-5221-06-CPB09-D220R-Acer/dp/B009F7SXIA), only capable of 220 watts, but given the case, which I am guessing is a TFX style power supply, it is suitable for its small form factor. Of course we are going to need a higher wattage PSU before any upgrading is possible, which I can't seem to find. UPDATE: Do you guys think this will work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151090

I have also looked into a 2GB stick for the system, which I have found for 21.95$, but I am not so sure about Memorystock's credibility. Any opinions on them, or facts? (http://www.memorystock.com/orderitem.asp?it=809ms-809&MnfId=&MdlId=8111030783)

Now, the main reason I want to upgrade is getting a dedicated GPU. I have heard numerous suggestions ranging from GT 610 to Radeon 5450, though I would prefer something a bit more modern, not high end, but more around the GT 700 and R200 series and it needs to be between 30-60$. UPDATE: I am looking at the R5 230, or a GT 730, 1 GB GDDR5 (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KYCTCZ8/ref=psdc_284822_t2_B00L61VI8A).

I am not capable of getting a full on new computer at the moment, but I am capable of upgrading this one. A new case is not preferred, but feel free to recommend. The use of this computer is intended for running a music player like Spotify while playing games like Minecraft, War Thunder (minimum settings), Trove, Civilization IV, or Roblox, but Roblox already runs perfectly fine.

Help on this would be really appreciated. Thanks.

My question has practically been buried by the bazillion of other threads, practically meaning no one but myself have been viewing this, and I have gotten nowhere further on my own so far since my UPDATEs. Can anybody help me out?

this isn't really a solution... I have the same computer and have been looking aswell for the same reason, I plan on a 720 or 730 and can't find anything to tell me for sure what psu I can put in this... I've been considering just putting one on a stand next to the computer since I run it with the side panel off anyways... i'll keep this in mind and if I figure out a good solution i'll let you know, otherwise if I just go about putting a psu outside i'll let you know how it goes

ok so this is what I got, it's flex atx.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6PW2FB0228&cm_re=flex_atx_power_supply-_-1HU-008G-00013-_-Product is what I found, it's over an inch shorter, it's not as wide and also not as tall, 300w so it should work as a minimum for a lot of the cards, NVidia lowers power usage going up in series so 730 I think is a 300 recommended and NVidia rates the 730 1gb gddr5 at 25w usage, so with the bonus 80 from this psu it'll leave you alittle to fiddle with if you ever look for a better cpu... now you could always order the gpu and give it a shot because I was told that the computer doesn't use all of the 220w it has, it's something I can look into more since it might actually be that the computer has 25w it's not using that the gpu can use... I hope this is helpful, I just now got it kinda figured and yea,
