what is different from an emachine and regular laptop

Generally e-machine laptops are a netbook with a laptop name attached to it. That is, they tend to be cheaper because of low quality parts that do not perform as well as say a "regular laptop." If all you do is surf the web, word processing, etc..., an e-machine laptop would probably suit you just fine.
