Hello, I am looking to upgrade my eMachines E525. I brought it about 4-5 years ago, Windows 7 home premium.

Specs:

eMachines
eMachines E525
Intel R Celeron R CPU 900 @ 2.20GHz 2.19
2.00 GB
64 bit

I am looking to upgrade its ram and I really want it to be on around 60 fps for games and at least for it to not be so slow opening softwares etc.

My budget is arounnd $100-250 for upgrades.
Please help.

Thanks

You can't really upgrade your laptop, besides your ram.

I would just get a new computer, TBH. Your computer still has only DDR2 Ram. Technology from the 2003. Plus, your processor only has 1 core.

And you will never get 60 FPS on this laptop, probably not even 20/30 fps. I mean, unless you're playing some really-easy-to-run 2d game, the probably, but 3d games, no.

You can get laptops off ebay, that will definitely do a whole lot better than your single core laptop

Here's a good example.

The Windows Surface Pro (First generation) is a good alternative if you want a laptop in tablet form.

But it will cost about 100 dollars more that your max budget.

So if I am to sell my current laptop to purchase a new one, how much would this be worth if I sold it on eBay. I would actually spend around $500-600 including price of this laptop for a completely new one. What laptop would you recommend for a student, for gaming and school stuff. 60FPS is the minimum I want in a game.

And thanks for the reply and help. I knew this laptop was pretty old. Good choice to get a new one.

Probably 40 dollars, probably less. It's 2003 Technology and I'm pretty sure no one would buy it.

Recycling it would be the best option.

I don't think you could even reuse the hard drive, since nowadays they use SATA instead of IDE.

What Laptop do you recommend me to buy at a price range of $900-1100, becasue this is a new laptop I'm willing to pay more so it can last longer. Gaming and good specs. Thanks
