Embedded server ideas?

Hello

I wish to replace my embedded server based on an Intel Atom N270.

I was looking for a server board based on the Atom C2550, but it's getting old and I saw the newest Pentium N3700. Its less expensive and has all the newer instructions, but it's wasting die space on a [useless-for-servers] GPU. (It's still a good power/price ratio)

What would be the best embedded low power (maybe system-on-a-chip) processor to power my server? Have you heard of a plan for low power server processors coming up?

I'm going to use Debian, so Intel, AMD, ARM and more would be OK.

Thanks for the info!

Are you planning on using a hardware RAID card? Or SSD? 100MB/s throughput on gigabit is doing good. You can tweak it to get 110. I don't believe you will see 125. SMB is just not a very efficient protocol.

Maybe a RAID card for Raid 1, I don't need gigabit saturation, just "hard drive speed " saturation.
Samba on Linux is tweakable.
An AMD APU makes me cry from the inside considering the GPU die space is way bigger than the CPU.
What I mean is do you know of a Server-like CPU without graphics focus that would have a low TDP and would not cost me 300$?
