Hello all,

I am trying to get my PC to display on an Emerson lc320em1f by using either HDMI-HDMI or HDMI-HDMI-DVI (adapter). Seems straightforward. The first time I attempted to plug the TV in with HDMI and a monitor at the same time, I believe I clicked detect displays and then the problem began.

The problem:

The moment I plug in the TV the other monitor will go black, and the TV will read "resolution mismatch. change device resolution."

Now, at this point I have scoured the internet in search of solution to no avail. I believe the solution is going to be a combination of options I haven't tried yet. And my main concern is that I feel like I need to be able to actually change these options FOR THE TV. But to my knowledge I have no way of editing certain options for the TV in the Catalyst Control Center, since the moment I plug in the TV both monitors go black.

Additionally, I have read that "upscaling" can cause similar issues. I would love to ensure this is disabled, but under "Scaling Options" (once again, this appears to be specific to my monitor, not the TV which I can't plug in) the slider from Underscan to Overscan is grayed out, and I can't find how to remedy that either.

I would love to know how to change these kinds of options for the TV, but I fear that's impossible.

What I've tried:

  • ■Changing the resolution through CCC to any number of resolutions supported by my TV, ie 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1280 x 720, 1366 x 768.
■Using the TV as the sole output
■Alternating between extending displays and duplicating displays
    ■Updating my drivers
■Turning off and on "Enable GPU up-scaling"
■Changing the scaling mode from "Maintain Aspect Ratio" to "Scale image to full panel size" to "Use centered timings"
■Turning off "Reduce DVI frequency on high-resolution displays" and "Alternate DVI operational mode"
■Adding 720p60 format to the Display Manager (NTSC) - HDTV Support
■Probably a few more things, but feel free to add anything even if may seem redundant - I feel the solution might be quite simple

Any help is greatly appreciated... I am rather frustrated with what seems like a simple problem, but continues to appear otherwise.

Thanks.
