Hello, I'm about to go crazy and I really need some help 😀
My original setup consisted of a Rode Procaster, Fethead, and MG10XU mixer with some DT1990 for the audio. That was plugged in to my pc via USB and powered externally. Recently, I have been getting some severe EMI through my microphone mainly when gaming. This issue was not present when I used a non-dynamic microphone, so I started with a different mic. I aquired a Shure SM7B and I'm having the same issues. I'll list everything I've done below.
Tried Windows 10 and 11.
New XLR cable and microphone. Problem only seems to exist on Dynamic microphones.
Removed fethead, problem persists.
Removed mixer from PC entirely and ran standalone with vocal monitoring, problem persists.
Tried different mixer, problem persists.
Unplugged headphones all together, problem persists.
Taken mixer to another room, inconclusive.
Exchanged gpu with another as well as entirely removed gpu and ran integrated graphics. Problem persists, albeit a little better with IGP.
Tried all different channels and settings on my mixer, problem persists.
Unplugged all cables except power from pc, problem persists.
unplugged all fans from pc, problem persists.
I recently purchased a new PSU (RM850X and some colored extension cables. I don't have another psu to test.
My mic is unbearable in game, especially CSGO where the fps run high. Please give me any recommendations you have and I'll try them out. Thank you!
EDIT: Here is a recording VOLUME WARNING SORRY https://vocaroo.com/16gYpQNxhxiY
