Empire is boring

I just got done playing yet another blitz on Changeling and as usual nobody
showed up. I end up winning every time, though. Lack of competition does
wonders for sector acquisition. But anyway, I am bored of Empire. There's
*way* too much mircomangement in this game. So I'm going to go off and play
Half Life 2 for a while, and not have to think about feeding civs and
running out of fuel and distributing iron and all the other stupid stuff in
Empire. Maybe I'll come back in a few months and see if anyone has broken
sanctuary in the blitzes.

Are you the guy that always plays as "RED" on the blitz?

I only play the blitz when i see that there are a couple other players on,
otherwise blitzing by yourself is a waste of time.

Well, if you want to see competitors, it helps to show up in the
competition, not just the public training area. Which may or may not
be used on any given day. Try a real game. PZ3 is coming up.

Food and fuel are an option. They are not enabled in all games.
(though without fuel the subs get too strong for my taste)

Iron and cm's are set up once and then forgotten.
If you are moving lots of them by hand then it will get boring indeed *and*
you will loose. There are nice things like threshholds and warehouse and
these will take care of this. also, using those yield significant advantages
in mob cost.

Sign up for one of the training games for PZ3. There will be competition.
Or, as suggested above, sign up for PZ3 itself.

Uh, weren't you the one who just recently bitched me out for complaining
about micromanagement? I seem to recall you saying to me here...

"WTF do you have against "micromanagement"? What exactly is your bitch,
when Empire as a game is nothing if not "micromanagement" intensive? It
seems like every post, you go off on some addition to "micromanagement"
that would somehow grind the mighty Empire game servers and their players
to a halt."

What happened to you James?

I guess there's no mystery about why you got bored.

There should be one day per week when people know there will be
competition in the blitzes. Or, for the weekly blitz, one week per
month.

Maybe Saturday would be a good day for some one-day competition, eh?

I might even be there...

There is a reason for that, Empire is a social game. There is no
player to player interaction in a blitz. Take a breather, when you
get an urge to give it another shot, screw the blitz and sign up for a
long term game.

Lately, Friday has been the big meet-up date on changeling.

(Note to self; triple check that changeling has successfully reset tonight!)
