Greetings Gurus,

Anybody has some info on how using SSD's efficiently (if that is possible:)

It looks to me that there are quite a few restrictions to their use.

Just wondering as I'm playing my first empire game since SSD's exist (well,
since their planet-capturing feature exists)

Cheers,

Have a lot of them. Attack at several places at once.

Fly to an enemy base with both an SSD (or more) and a Gorbie. Let him
guess which one will attack. Maybe your SSD will go for the starbase
and the Gorbie will strike at that good planet just next to it. Or the
other way around. Or fly in with both of them. Or stay in space for an
extra turn. Or skip over that starbase and head deeper into his
territory. Keep him guessing. Give a cloaker the name "SSD escort" or
"T minus 1" and uncloak it near a planet of his. Get on his nerves.

True. You need to survive one turn in orbit of a planet. Get a
cloaking ship, clone it and quite a few restrictions will fall
away. :)

Thanks Maurits, I actually found a bunch of good strategy guides at
Donovan's shortly after posting this.
Now with a cloaker there might be hope ...
