Enable USB Debugging on a HTC One xl

I recently broke my phones screen and it is unusable,
I want to get my stuff but I can't because usb debugging isn't enable
So is there a way for me to enable it or if someone has a htc one x/xl could they please give my instructions how to do it because the touch still works.

As far as I am aware you shouldn't need it turned on to access the data on your phone. You need to have the phone powered on though

It doesn't work when I try to do it so I googled it and it said I need usb debugging enabled

Hi, In order to enable the debugging mode first turn on the mobile and the go to settings to enable the debugging mode.
