Enabline the meta key in rxvt on NAO

Maybe someone will find this helpful. Boudewijn Waijers posts from a
bit over a week in the past put me on the right track, so thanks goes to
him.

I added the following line to my .Xdefaults file.:

rxvt*meta8: true

I also need to do a TERM=rxvt before I do the actual connection to NAO.

Cool; I couldn't find the option in rxvt.

If you use xterm instead, set

xterm*eightBitInput: true

instead.

It's not a nethack option at all, it's an option of the terminal the OP is
using. I don't use PuTTY, so I don't know if it has a similar option.

is that

OPTIONS=rxvt*meta8: true

or just the bare line as you typed it? Also, you type out "meta", right
(as opposed to ALT-8)?

Which appears to be an option on the "keyboard" options screen of PuTTY.

(I want to make sure I'm getting this right before firing up a new game,
which I'm not quite ready to do at the moment.)

Poking around on the PuTTY website, looks like it's on the PuTTY
wishlist, but not an option right now.
