I have a 2017 Seagate Backup Plus Portable 4TB USB 3.0 external HDD. The unit stopped working so I tried a different cable, then different cable and different USB port on PC, then different PC....still nothing. I then popped the case open, removed the drive, and plugged it temporarily into another case that I have and IT WORKS!. The problem is, the temporary replacement case is made to house a 2.5" drive with a max thickness of about 9mm. My Seagate drive is 2.5" but about 14mm thick. I have looked at the normal places that I know (Amazon, Newegg) and it seems that none of the inexpensive cases are designed to hold a drive thickner than about 9.5mm. Any suggestions where I can find an inexpensive enclosure that is made for thick thicker HDD?
