- Gigabyte Z87 HD3
Recently changed case and PSU and using without major issues. Just now added onboard speaker and found it beeping endlessly at startup. Took the speaker out while it was beeping.

CPU temp doesn't show overheat.
Windows diagnostics couldn't find error in memory
CrystalDiscInfo & HdSentinel says 'Good' & 'excellent' respectively.
All fans are spinning normally it appears.
CMOS battery requires replacement though.
No GPU

Can anyone please tell what seems to be the problem here?

Solution
Go to windows event log and see what you can find under Critical, warning or Error tabs. A screenshot of the past 3 days will make it easier to figure out. Look for repeated errors corresponding to the startup times in the event viewer.

Here's what I think is the issue:

CMOS battery. Replace it and you should be good. (better to do it after 2 years or so)
Make sure you are plugging the speaker wire in the right slot on the motherboard. Refer to mobo manual for exact specs.
Go to properties and make sure all of your RAM is showing up. If you have two sticks, try booting with just one. Insert it firmly into the slot.

Keep us posted.

Solution

Here's the event log:

RAM looks fine, both individually in different slots.
CMOS battery replaced.

So here's what that is happening -
Today while I was playing games, the screen froze scrambled, had to press restart button. Then PC kept restarting every few seconds after reboot, and kept repeating. Thought it might be the CMOS. Brought the battery and installed.

But PC still rebooting after few seconds [stops and starts again], doesn't complete boot.

So I took out one of the ram sticks, but that didn't make any difference.

I kept trying to get it started and finally for unknown reason it completed boot [ after CMOS selection]

I don't know for how long the PC will remain running, or whether it will boot again after shutdown.

While the PC restarting cycle was happening, the processor fan was moving, and everything looked very normal, that's all I can say.

I don't suppose it's hard drive, because it will boot into BIOS or display message.
Power supply could be responsible?
Ram stick failing?
Mainboard failing?

What's going on?

*Didn't install onboard speaker yet.

No, after the beeping problem happened, I took it off.
Like suggested got the log info and tested ram, the day you commented.
Later brought the battery when PC kept rebooting over and over; that didn't work, at least immediately if CMOS requires sometime to adjust with the system, idk.

PC is operating properly now, so far. Still only one ram is installed. IDK whether it will start 'endless rebooting cycle' again if install the other one. Neither put back the onboard speaker for that matter.

Oh, and forgot to tell, last time onboad sp. was installed, it was totally quite, there even wasn't a starting beep.

Will test later again and let you know.

1) Enabling every device I had disabled before: on Device Manager I disabled the Wifi and Bluetooth adapters because I wasn't using them. Enabling them again managed to reduce the issue by ~50%
2) Wiping the C:\Windows\Prefetch (or "%windir%\Prefetch" if you can't find it) folder. These are the files used to speed up the OS boot, but probably some were corrupted and generated the issue preventing the Fast boot to work. I deleted every file and folder inside Prefetch leaving only "Layout.ini" left. With this some totally managed to resolve the issue,

If that doesn't work try THIS. If you can get into BIOS then it most definitely is your OS. Looks like some of it's boot files are corrupted or are causing issues with your hardware.

If it's not the OS and the hardware, it could be your RAM, PSU, etc.

According to gigabyte, long continuous beep is due to memory error as found HERE.

I suggest you clean the ram slots of any dust using pressurized air and clean the contact points of the RAM with a cotton bud, dipped in rubbing alcohol. If it still fails, replace the RAM modules. There might be a bad memory address on the RAM and whenever that address is occupied, the system crashes.

The problem that it was restarting every 3-5 seconds after booting, isn't happening.
Installed the onboard speaker back; now there's single beep after booting.

Both of the ram modules are installed without problem.

Didn't delete prefetch files yet, will keep in mind if need be.

It could be that cmos had problem.

I'll let you know if the problem appears again.

Very kind of you to help, thanks!

Glad to help. Cheers
