I have a Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 (water cooled). My brother, after selling off most of his PC to buy a new one, left behind a Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 (air cooled). I currently have them crossfired. I am not planning on upgrading my GPU until the next set of AMD GPUs are released (the 8000 series).

I am planning on getting triple 2560x1440 monitors (likely three of these). I want to know very simply if my current pair of crossfired cards will hold up with three 2560x1440, or if I should just hold off on the full monitor setup until after I upgrade my GPUs. There really is no timeline on this pet project, I'm mostly in the planning stage still.

they will definitely have problems running games on high at playable framerates. I suggest you hold off, until you can get better gpu's, since by that time, there may be better monitors at cheaper prices.

However, if you need them to just drive the screens for non-graphicaly intensive tasks (i.e. word processing etc) it would work fine.
