Question Enough voltage?

Here's the thing....at work I have lots of PCs with cheap Chinese power supplies...and they just fail quite a bit and I replace them with cheap Chinese power supplies because my employer likes to save money.

They fail in different ways.....but most commonly they just stop working and the PC won't boot.

I've never had a Corsair or a Seasonic fail on my home machines.

I would suggest something like this. Corsair RM550X

Here's an RM650X for cheaper. I'm guessing because it's a 2018 but that wouldn't stop me.

or any Seasonic model is good. I would just try and stay above 550 watts. That should be plenty for the 1060 and the rest of what you have.

no name power supplies like this one sometimes skimp on wattage to certain rails like the one usually used for the GPU power cable and also they can have less safety features like if your GPU or CPU draw too much power the PSU can pop and take something else out in your PC where a reliable branded PSU would just cut power to the computer when it detects a power overload.

some no name PSU's can also catch fire when overloaded

these are the reasons why you should never skimp on the power supply because if the PSU goes it can take other components out

Modern PCs draw almost all their power from the 12V rail. That "850W" PSU is only rated for 576W. 576W is still plenty for your specs in theory, but having 12V power that much less than total rated power typically means it's a very old design, very crappy design, or both.

What's your budget for a new PSU?
