In older PC systems we can enter BIOS and safe mode by pressing f1,del or any other key combinations.
But in Windows 10 you can enter BIOS and safe mode only if you entered into the desktop.

In Windows 10 how to enter BIOS if overclock fails?
Some times if overclock fails we can't boot system into desktop.
If we can't get into desktop how can I enter BIOS in Windows 10?

BIOS - this depends on if your system set up as UEFI boot or Legacy
If your BIOS is set to UEFI boot then you can use Advanced Startup in windows to get to bios
there are many ways to get to it
  1. start PC up and once it gets to loading windows screen, restart PC. After 3 attamtps it will run auto repair, and after that it will offer advanced options...

disconnect the drive. if there is nothing to boot to...
windows (fastboot) is loading data from the drive at boot. remove the drive and force the motherboard to boot alone, there you should be able to enter the BIOS settings.
you will still need to deal with the issues keeping windows from booting when you reconnect the drive.

IIRC three failed boot attempts into windows 10 will trigger a safe mode boot

The button to enter the BIOS is based on the hardware/firmware, not the operating system So it depends on your motherboard for example, usually it's something like F2, F11, F12 or Del.

Also if you have a failed OC, just reset the CMOS, and reboot.

Under the UEFI on HP systems, a repeated ESC press at cold boot time gets in to what many still call BIOS. I think it's F2 for Dell and know it's something else for Toshiba. A web search based on OEM and UEFI turns up what it is for most machines.

I always use the "triple power up" method to trigger Windows recovery mode, which includes safe mode.

  2. on the login screen, click the power button in bottom right of screen. Wile holding shift, click the restart button
  3. Boot off a win 10 installer on on 2nd screen, after languages, choose repair, not install.
Once you are in advanced startup, go to Troubleshoot/advanced/UEFI firmware Interface
that will load pc into bios at startup

If bios set to legacy boot, the UEFI Firmware option in advanced startup won't work.
one option is to restart PC after being in advanced startup as a restart is one of the only times as PC with fast startup turned on will be off, so startup will be slower than normal.

those buttons at startup still work, just have to be fast and choose right one for the motherboard.

Safe mode - you can get to safe mode by using number 2 above, it won't work if you try to get into safe mode without at least getting as far as the login screen.

after an OC, you want to clear CMOS anyway...

while overclocking if the voltage is low blue screen error occurs.so windows cant get into desktop.then how can you enter bios?
as per your answer we have to reset bios when every time error occurs.
for example i7 8700k stock voltage is between 1.15-1.20.max safe voltage is 1.40 for extreme overclock.
so after overclocking you stop the overclock at 1.4v with gradual increment of .05 on every step from 1.20v.
so 4 times you have to increase voltage when error occurs.
then you reset bios 4 times when blue screen error occurs?

Reset CMOS and then boot up. CMOS reset will clear an OC, if the PC won't boot after an OC, then yes you'll have to reset otherwise the failed boot will just continue.

You just simply test the OC for stability, record and monitor, then once you push it too far, reset and draw back to the last known good configuration.
