News Enthusiast claims to have obtained an early Ryzen 7 9700X — warehouses stock AMD’s latest Zen 5 CPUs in preparation for distribution to brick-and-m...

Wendel from Level1 techs has been going through industry error records and according to him the 13900k/14900k/14900ks chips show a 50% failure rate. not everyone has noticed cause who really thinks 1 crash per week or month is a big deal, but he said the numbers are astonishing. To make matters worse the cause of those intel failures apparently are a variety of things, meaning the core problem isn't identified.

If he's right and 50% of these chips in the wild have a defect then including these chips in any future performance chart seems a bit... unprofessional for THG.

So, as another Reddit user pointed out, the photographer is “either an employee, someone made a mistake, or this is a hoax.”

The product is 100% Legit. Definitely not a hoax either.

Why ? Because the part number as seen in the box, matches that of the Ryzen 7 9700X which is "100-100001404WOF".

Here is the proof. PC-Canada, a major retailer based in the North American region recently listed two chips, the Ryzen 7 9700X and the Ryzen 5 9600X.

A much better and fitting term would be "Retailer claims". Because the pic has been shared by an employee/owner of a retail shop.

Enthusiast sounds like a misleading term in the sense because an enthusiast can be any end user, consumer, or any gamer for that matter, which makes little sense, at least in this context, because these chips aren't meant to be sold this early to customers (unless of course smuggled/bought illegally).

What? Warehouses get stock 2 to 3 weeks before a product launches so they can distribute them to stores in time for the release date?
That's news to me.

Also, I expect that employee to get terminated... unless they are the store owner

FWIW, the box shown in the reddit post appears to match AMD's official packaging, and we can also see the chip visible through the box. 🙄

And, since the NDA on sales hasn't lifted yet, it appears that some store employee/owner got too excited to post about the package.
