And the moral of the story is: don't by non-Thinkpad Lenovo laptops. I've got one of the original ThinkPad Yogas (over a decade old now) with the fancy keyboard-keys-lock-themselves-flat-and-immovable-when-you-open-it-all-the-way-around keyboard mechanism, and it's still going strong today without issue, whilst this thing can't even go 5 years without two broken keyboards that don't even have a party trick.

Yes - ThinkPad keyboards are one of their highlight features. I’m always bummed when an old ThinkPad starts failing, but I can’t take its keyboard with me to use on something else.
