Hey there,
my old Acer laptop has died and I used it's encryption software to encrypt some files.
Now on my new laptop I'm trying to figure out how, but with no avail.

Someone help?

It.s ENX, so like a picture: jpgenx, a doc: docenx

etc.

Cheers

I do remember the password, and I believe it was eDatasecurity manager

write an email to them, asking if the extensions are familiar?

you could create a virtual machine from your old machines hdd, and then just run the software from that? its a physical to virtual migration. You'll need to remove the hdd and connect it to a caddy or some kind. It's by far the simplest way imo.

i think you will find thats its actually mywinlocker--unless your laptop is older or newer than mine and they

have changed it

far as i remember eDatasecurity manager contains 4 different parts

with mywinlocker being the part of the software suite that does the encryption

free trial here may let you unencrypt your stuff

dont know if theres any limitation on the free trial

Ah, I downloaded mywinlocker and it's working!
BUT,
what I thought was the password is not the password =/
Damn.

But thanks a lot guys!

EDIT:

It seems that mywinlocker can decrypt the file but I do not remember the password.
I cannot either use the master password for it... Which is odd?

But then again, I used a different master password on the laptop some three years
ago, and probably also an outdated version of the same program.

What to do? =(

havent really used mywinlocker even though its on my acer

so dont know when you installed it if it asks you to put in a master password etc

but the default master password is 0000

according to their website if you forget the passwords theres no way to recover them

whether thats true i dont know

as the passwords are stored in the encrypted files

but cant help breaking passwords even if its possible as its against forum rules
