hi
is the error happening when you first switch on the computer, if so it might be your floppy drive that is causing the problem, thats if you have one. the reason i say that is most pc's are set to boot from the floppy first, try changing the settings in the set up screen. so that it boots from your ide hard drive first.
can you boot into windows if not then the hard drive has gone wrong, did you happen to hear the hard drive clunking when it was booting ok, if so then you might need a new drive as the clunking of the hard drive means it has not long left before it crashes completely. this happened to me when I bought a new drive 6 moths later it clunked and then just crashed completely.
