Hello I have a problem with my gigabyte ep45ds3l. If I disconnect it from the mains and try to boot, it restarts before post and then does everything fine. I've reset cmos, tried different ram sticks, everything is set to stock.

Previously there was a problem where it would shutdown but all the fans would stay on but I resolved that by resetting cmos.

Bit stuck now...

I am thinking of a BIOS flash to the latest version or maybe a faulty PSU.

Any input would be greatly appreciated...

It may be different on that motherboard, but going into the BIOS and saving the configuration usually resolves that issue (as long as the battery is good and settings are not lost).

Maybe the battery is on its way out as i did save the settings and it only happens after its unpluged. What do you reckon?

Replacing the battery isn't that expensive. That issue might bother you, but it isn't that bad as you probably don't disconnect the PC from the power outlet on a regular basis.

So that's it? That is the reason why when I unplug it, it reboots? Because it's lost settings due to the battery?

If after unplugging it the system posts and resets before posting again and then boot, then the battery probably is defective. You should replace the battery to see if it resolves the issue. I doubt the PSU is at fault, but that's possible if it's a cheap unit.
