Epic spells for bards

Hi.

Has anyone successfully cast epic spells with a bard character? According to
the manual, it should be possible, if you have a high enough spellcraft
skill, but although I get the epic spells sub-menu, it stays empty of actual
spells. Why is that?

I believe the manual is wrong. Bards do not get epic-level spells.
