hey all, i have put my 256mb stick of pc 3200ddr ram from ocz into my brand spanken new epox 8k3a motherboard with my also brand spanken new xp 1600 proc, at the boot sreen it only recognizes the ram as pc2700🙁 is this a problem of the kt333 chipset? can my mobo only support ram that runs at that speed or is there some setting in the bios? i have carefully looked through my bios and have found the ram timings and there is nothing having to do with the fsb there, under frequencies and what not it has a "cpu speed adjustment" but as i up it i see that the speed increases in proportion to my multiplier so this must be it right? what a way to lable it, very confusing. i wish this board could run the fsb and the agp/pci bus independently of each other, my sound card does not like the high frequencies. any way, my cpu is not as of yet unlocked, but i have so far managed to achieve 1666 mhz with the stock heatsink,(new volcano 7 is on the way tho) i cant push up the fsb very high until i unlock the multiplier as the proc just wont run a 200mhz fsb with a multiplier setting of 11.5! lol that would equal out to what? 2300mhz! after i unlock it will pushing up my fsb make the mobo regester the ram as pc 3200? or is there some method of raising the ram bus indepentently of the cpu's fsb? im lost, and afraid that i may have spent too much on my ram if the only thing its good for is a cas latency of 2 at 142mhz!
