I really need help on this one... I know I have seen similar posts on this in the past ('bout a year ago) but I thought I would give it another try since I am having this problem now. Maybe someone else would see the post.

Recently put a Sapphire 9600 Pro 256MB Radeon card in my EPoX EP-8K7A mobo and the system runs fine while in Windows and simple graphics but when I try to run games that use 3D graphics (high or low) the system hangs. It does a similar thing when I tried to run DxDiag and look at the 3D values.

System ran fine while I had a LeadTek GeForce 2 Pro installed. (the fan went out and I needed a replacement)

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

AMD Athlon 1.4Ghz tbird
EPoX EP-8K7A mobo (AMD 761 & VIA 686B)
512MB RAM (PC2100 DDR)
Win XP Pro w/SP2

not much else in there... 120GB IDE HD, CDROM, CD-RW

Thanks in advance.

LOL, cleaned.....that's funny
yeah i'd have to agree, make sure you remove the nvidia driver COMPLETELY@ Meaning using a program such as detonator r.i.p. to clean out anything wiith nvidia in your registry.

Watch out for the bloody Fanboys!

AMD64 2800+ :: MSI Neo-Fis2r :: 512mb Kingmax ddr400 :: Sapphire 9800pro 128mb :: 10K WD Raptor
