I am about to buy some memory for a new build and I see EPP and sli memory offered at extra cost. Are there any benefits to this feature if you set your timings manually anyway? I am looking at ddr800 cas4.

Why would anyone who knows about timings pay extra for that?
Thanks for the info, I thought there had to be more to it than that.

Basically, it is extra information coded into the SPD of the memory. With a proper bios (Nvidia chipsets only so far) you have preset performance or OCing settings available via the bios as opposed to manually OCing. Not everyone needs this but, it is there. And, we don't charge extra for it either. There are some other reasons relating to platform validation so you know your memory has been tested with those specific chipsets before you buy it.
