Epson Artisan 710 question

Hello, I have an Epson Artisan 710 printer, and when I make copies, the pages come out with this grey background behind the text. Not only does this look bad, but its using up my black ink.

How do I fix this problem?

reset all your settings to default. If you just want to copy text, set to black only/greyscale and text copy. If you copy with photo quality/colour settings, you may get this.
