Epson CX5400 cleaning station purge tube detached

The cleaning station purge tube has fallen off in my CX5400. Does anyone
know an easy way to reconnect it? I have tried for hours and hours but can't
seem to get the thing back on. Using tweezers and fat fingers isn't working
for me. Any help would be most appreciated!

This is a very common problem, and personally, I think Epson needs to
take some responsibility for it. It was a design error where during
cartridge replacement it can occur quite easily.


However, that's not what you asked... I wonder if a hemostatic pliers
might help. these are a small scissors-like tool which usually has a
locking mechanism in the handle, and a thin ribbed tapered front end,
sometimes it is curved. They used to be very costly, but now they are
sold many places and some are made in India and Asia and are only a few
bucks. I am not sure they will help or not, but from the descriptions I
have heard, it might be an answer.

Other than that, here is a link to a website that has parts of the Epson
service manuals for these printers posted so you can dismantle your
printer and do the deed.

Thanks Art. I will try what you suggested. You are right about Epson not
taking responsibility for that. Warranty is over. Oh well...

Artery forceps can be found in fishing tackle shops usually as a subsstitute
for disgorgers (takin out barbed hooks) andthey work a treat on the tubes.
