Here's a chart (PDF) with a side-by-side comparison of the R200 and R300:

It appears that the answer to question 1 is "yes", with the caveat that
the R300 has the card readers, but you need to get the R300M to get a
display.
I have an R200 on my iMac G4 800. My previous printers were a C80N and a
C82. The C80N came with an EpsonNet External Print Server module that
plugged into its parallel port to provide network printing. When I
replaced it with the C82, I was able to use the same EpsonNet unit on
that printer as well. But the R200 has only USB 1.1 (2 ports, one on the
back, and one on the front), so this printer can't use my EpsonNet Print
Server. I presume that it could be shared over the net by a host Mac or
PC, though, if printer sharing is configured.
I've gotten excellent results printing photos on glossy paper with the
R200.
