Epson r300 if the install ink does not move

My Epson 300 will not respond when I press the maintenance button to install an ink cartridge for the empty Cyan. I have printed a test page, but the ink cleaning items and head adjustments don't respond from the computer or from the unit itself. I downloaded new drivers for Snow Leopard Epson R300 but no luck. Is the unit dead or is there a work around. Barbara

It needs stripping down and very possibly parts replacing. It can be sent to an Epson Service Centre to have the remedial work done, but that just wouldn't make economic sense as the cost would probably be more than buying a new consumer-priced printer.

Sending a printer to the manufacturer for repair never makes sense unless it's covered by warranty so you don't have to pay for it.
