[SOLVED] Epson RX520 - Software Updater doesn't work.

Hi all.

This isn't a biggie as the printer works (surprisingly well) but it's just a tad annoying when additional things don't install/function as they should, and I can't get access to all the Epson provided software.

I was given an RX520 to replace my Brother who went kaput. This big brute produces FAR better detail, and is really very impressive - albeit slow and noisy.

Anyhoo, I've downloaded all the available software from the Epson site, including 'Software Updater'. Launching this brings up the expected window, but the 'Select your product' list is empty, and 'refresh' has no effect. Ergo it doesn't work.

I have 'Epson Easy Photo Print' installed but when I fire it up it says "Restart Easy Photo Print after installing the latest version of Easy Print module".

I can print to it easily enough using Win 10 'Photos', but it would be nice to have access to what I expect are better editing options with Epson's prog.

I know it's an oldish printer and I'm on Win 10 Version 2004, but the Epson site even recognises I have this when it suggest the software downloads.

'Stone' mini PC i5.

Any thoughts ? Thanks.

There is a post here with a link to a 64 bit Win 10 driver for the printer https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...software/e393cba7-43c4-4941-bfbc-345cf677b49c

And here is a post about the error where someone said it went away when using the Epson drivers https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...en-after/43d67458-ec71-4942-8f64-849fe5155b03

Other than that you would need to contact Epson support, it's their software that is not working properly. On the spec sheet from cnet about it, it lists WIn 2000 and XP support, so not odd that on Win 10 there are issues with the program.

That's fab, Hang-the-9 - thank you.

By updating with that driver, I now have a functioning 'Epson Software Updater' which now recognises my printer and looks for further updates. It announced that 'I am up to date'...

However, the 'Epson Easy Photo Print' still returns "Restart Easy Photo Print after installing the latest version of Easy Print module".

I will pursue your links further when I have time.

Cheers :)
