Black head virtually no output.
Have removed cartridge and dribbled alcohol onto the little spike and
wiped it with a cotton wool bud.
Can I disembowel it and have a go at cleaning the 'paper' side
nozzles?

TIA

Bill:

Use the find function in your newsreader to search for the name
"Arthur Entlich" on this group
or do the same with a search engine. If you write Mr. Entlich and
request that he send you a
free copy of his excellent cleaning procedure manual for Epson
printheads, you won't be disappointed.

Edward Hennessey

Basically don't attempt the disassembly of Epson printheads. All effective
cleaning can be done without that.
If you have a spare cartridge the best way is to fill it with Windex
(Windolene UK) and print a few pages with that as and when the black fades.
Mr Muscle a shower degeaser works fine as well. The ammonia content in these
cleaners acts as solvent for dye and usually pigmented inks. Household
ammonia diluted 10:1 also does the trick. And if possible ignore all the
parrot pratts who occasionally visit these groups with their prophecies of
doom. The solvent only stays in their for a few minutes and is flushed
through by the next load of ink. Some vendors also provide a solution which
is basically the same mix.

If you haven't already done so, send me a private email referencing your
printer in the body of the message and I will send you instructions for
cleaning your Epson printer without disemboweling anything.

No cost for the manual which is sent by email.
