I've had Windows 7 for six months and had no problems printing with my Epson Stylus PhotoRX500 until now. All of a sudden, it has stopped printing from the computer. It will print if I scan a document in on the scanner bed, so I know the printer works. The correct driver is installed and, yes, the printer is connected to the computer. When I go to the control panel and click on this printer, it says the printer is paused. I have not been able to get it to restart. It will cancel the print job, but it will not start a print job that is paused.

Solution
- Open the Start menu
- Type services.msc
- In the Services window locate Print Spooler
- Right-click it and press stop.
- Show hidden files - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows/show-hidden-files#show-hidden-files=windows-vista
- Now open explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- Delete everything in that folder
- Go back into the Services window. Right-click Printer Spooler and press start.

Try printing something now.

If that fails your best bet is completely removing the printer and everything epson. Download the latest drivers from Epson website and start over...

Solution

Thank you for your suggestions, casper1973. Unfortunately, neither one worked. When I added the printer again, it says "Printer: error," with no explanation. It will not print the test page.

Delete the drivers that is already installed and after unistallation of driver restart your system and reinstall the drivers and then go to device and printer and it will show some printers go to printer and hower your mouse on to a printer it will show if its online or offline and whichever is online make that default and there you go print a test page and your printer will work.
