Epson vs Microtek

I'm considering to buy a midrange scanner for scanning magazines, photos, negatives and slides. Could anyone please tell me which of these scanners is better?

I do a lot of magazine scans with my Microteck 4800, does a nice job. Paid $89 @ Best Buy.

i have no idea about microtek, but i do have opeson perfection 1650 which is great scanner in quality and speed(never scanned negatives).

i think you should check the epson 2450 and canon D2400U.
